Lincolnshire
Bridget the Browser has been sampling the delights of Lincolnshire's bookshops. To her surprise she discovers that the best bookshops aren't in Lincoln, where she had expected to find them, but in Stamford...more

Norfolk
The county supports an impressive number of shops. The Old Station Pottery & Bookshop in Wells-Next-The-Sea is worth a visit and there are also a couple of remainders shops in the main street, that occasionally yield a trifle. Just up the road at Burnham Market, The Brazen Head Book Shop always has a good stock of art, illustrated and children's books, and J.C Books in the High Street of Watton has received positive reviews from guide users. With the closure of Jackdaw Books and the reduction of Baron Arts stock to a few books above their gallery, Simon Finch is now the only shop in Holt. Norwich can be rewarding, but alas, "The Scientific Anglian Bookshop" is no more.

Cambridgeshire
Cambridge itself is still worth visiting for its four independant shops, including The Haunted Bookshop and Plurabelle Books, and there's a book stall in the city centre market on a Thursday. Of the few other shops in the county, I have no personal experience.

Suffolk
In Bury St Edmunds, Churchgate Books is recommend by one of our readers. A recently extended Poor Richard's Bookshop and Treasure Chest Books, should make Felixtowe worthwhile. And Claude Cox Books and the Idler, with Roy Arnold at Needham market, make the Ipswich area a good prospect.

Essex
In Colchester The Castle Book Shop and the Colchester Bookshop are worth a visit and in Saffron Walden, Lankester Antiques and Books has received good reviews from our readers. Leigh-on-Sea still has two shops which are worth visiting, but that's the extent of my knowledge of the county.

If you run a bookshop in East Anglia, just complete a simple online form and you will start to attract new customers. Trade entries in the bookshop directory are free (although we reserve the right to charge a small administration fee in the future).
