Surrey
There
county's shops are rather thinly spread, with no concentrations
in any one town. But for
Islamicists there's Joppa, and for cricket fans, JW McKenzie.
Kent
Bookshop browsers are spoilt for choice in Kent. Rochester is Home
to Baggins Book Bazaar, which claims to be "England's largest
secondhand and rare bookshop", although there are those who
would dispute this. The The Aviation Bookshop's relocation to Tunbridge
Wells, swells the number of shops there to five, if you count Oxfam.
Elsewhere in the county you'll find shops to suit most tastes and
pockets.
West
Sussex
With the recent closure of their Worthing branch, Kim's
Bookshops are now reduced to two outlets. The
Horsham Bookshop and
Murray & Kennett have also gone, leaving Horsham without a secondhand
bookshop. And
after nearly 40 years in the town centre, The Chichester Bookshop
relocated to Ross-on-Wye in August 2008, leaving the town with just
one bookshop.
East
Sussex
From
the cheap and cheerful purveyors of modern secondhand books, many
of them to be found in Brighton, to the seriously pocket-lightening
likes of Bow Windows Bookshop, the county can truly be said to have
something for everyone.
If
you run a bookshop in South East England, just complete a simple online
form and you will start to attract new customers. Trade entries in the bookshop
directory are free (although we reserve the right to charge a small administration
fee in the future). |
