2.02.12 Kim Jeffery of Etc Fairs has announced that they have now taken over the Gerrards Cross Book Fair, formerly run by David Ford. This is a popular event, which runs 6 times a year at the Memorial Centre in Gerrards Cross. The fair runs on Saturdays with the next fair taking place on March 10th 2012, the doors open at 10am and close at 4pm, and entrance is 50p. And I've just added the five dates for Pauline Walker's Leeds Book Fair. Add a comment 19.01.12 Andy Weeks writes: 'Sadly with have not been able to secure the services of a caterer for our fairs (Mid Sussex Book Fair) scheduled for 2012, namely 28th April and 22nd September. With numbers attending also not being as high as hoped of late we have taken the decision to cancel them.' As usual, there will be a wide range of interests, authors, antiquarian books, local history, including countryside pursuits, birds, flora and fauna, maps, art books, and especially books by the local author "BB" Denys Watkins-Pitchford (1905 - 1990). Add a comment 4.01.12 The Macclesfield Heritage Centre Book Fair is a new quarterly event, the first of which will be held on Saturday February 18th. Organiser, Roger Treglown, describes it as 'small book fair held on behalf of the Silk Heritage Trust, located in the centre of town in a fine listed building, with a wonderful cafe! Lots of parking near the venue. Exhibitors include ABA and PBFA members - so quality is guaranteed.' Add a comment 3.01.12 Unfortunately the first fairs news of 2012 is the cancellation of Deal Book Fair on January 7th. Organiser, Jenny Manning's husband had a knee replacement operation on December 19th and won't be fit enough to do the necessary organisation. They hope to re-book the fair some time in February.
