I'm afraid this
section of the site is a bit old and tired - rather like I feel
on a bad day :) And I simply don't have the time to look for new
products and services -- or to put the whole thing into an online
database -- much as I know how much easier it would be to use.
On the other
hand the pages are still being updated. I'm regularly adding the
links which are sent in, and deleting those I'm told are redundant.
Over the years,
I've found fellow bookdealers personal recommendations (or warnings)
invaluable, and in my experience the best place to find such advice
on the net has been from various email
lists and discussion
boards.
Of these, the
two I have found most useful have been the
Bibliophile mailing
list ($30 sub) and BookFinder
Insider (free). Both lists are dominated by North American
users, but I'm surprised how often a lurking Brit will pop up when
the subject is of interest.
I've found many
dealers on both lists to be extremely helpful in freely supplying
bibliographic, and all sorts of other information. But as they say,
you get what you pay for -- and my Bibliophile subscription is no
exception.
