This is an excellent, well organised bookshop with a realistic attitude to selling. The friendly staff are very helpful and I always come away with something worthwhile (usually in several bags). It annoys me when I go into a shop to find that the same optimistically priced stock that I saw last year and even five years before that is still on the shelves, becoming progressively more and more beaten up. Book selling has moved on from this, surely? This could be a really excellent shop - it has a friendly propietor and a fairly interesting stock, but it is, unfortunately, living in the dark ages and needs to adopt a more realistic attitude in its selling. It could certainly have a far greater turnover with more competitive prices on the run-of-the-mill material and the odd sale wouldn't hurt. It just saddens me to see a stock rotting on the shelves - and the worst thing is that this shop isn't the only one that gives the impression that it doesn't want to sell anything. - Nicholas Pendower 06.06.11.

One of a growing number of such places I am coming across. Basically a group of dealers get together to rent out a large disused retail area, which is then divided up into smaller areas for rent. A very interesting place to look for all things collectable, but also has a fair number of interesting books at reasonable prices amongst the other paraphernalia. So, not strictly a book shop, but has far more books for sale than some dedicated bookshops I have been to. - Steve Newman 16.08.11.

Lovely clean, tidy and well presented premises at Stamford Station. The amount of natural light gives a warmth to browsing the quite superb selection of railway and transport stock. Sue Ryder appear to be the latest chain of Charity Shops moving into 'specialist' areas. I assume this one is fairly new as I could find no reference to it as a book & music shop on their website. Afraid I forgot to get opening times, I had not realised it was not in the guide.

This charity shop knocks spots off some so-called real bookshops Ive visited. The interesting, good quality stock, which extends to antiquarian volumes, is very well presented, and prices are extremely fair (while there are certainly bargains to be had, the higher end material is marked at reasonable bookshop prices; BUT be reassured - they dont ask the exorbitant rates seen in most Oxfam shops). There is also an excellent music section, including vinyl, CDs and sheet music. Total and utter chaos! Piles and piles of books prevent buyers from retrieving anything worthwhile, and where there is space the hoover is stuck in the way. I spotted a few things I would have liked to have looked at, but was afraid of excavating for fear of setting off an avalanche and ending my days under a pile of books!
